Gary,

thanks for the support. Next step is comissioning the solution and proving that none of this is hype!

Steve,
I looked up the dictionary definition of 'vantage point'.
- noun 'a position affording a clear overall view or prospect'. It strikes me that your phrase perfectly sums up what KHub is trying to do.

Atle, thanks for the comment. Glad you picked up on the synergy with FriendFeed - one of my favourite apps. Strangely undiscovered by many in the social media and social networtking space.

I agree your point about the difficulties in identifying 'relevent' data associated with what is known about the user. I don't expect we'll ever get this absolutley right, but I think we can build some intelligence into the system to make it easier and more intuitive for the user to find the information that is likely to be relevant to them. Aprt from using user profile and activity data (including info on who the user's colleagues or 'friends' are and what they have looked at), the intention is to design-in semantic web mark-up on all the content, thereby being able to make connections between people, places and 'things'.

Yes, it's going to be challenging - but not impossible (I hope!)

Very interesting concept, and VERY ambitious !

It reminds me a little of what FriendFeed does, with widgets and integration with Twitter, iGoogle etc etc ?

"making it far easier for users to filter, share and access the information that is most relevant to them, using personal profile data and activity streams to improve relevance." - this is very difficult, as selecting what is most relevant for people is highly personal and subjective !

It will be interesting to see what solution this project manages to create in the end - a very interesting challenge indeed !
